A Lifetime of Dedication

A graduate of Khyber Medical College, Peshawar and University of Peshawar, Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Sarwar holds a postgraduate diploma in prosthetic and orthotic sciences from the University of Darussalam, Tanzania and an MS in Prosthetics and Orthotics from FR Germany. He is a renowned figure in the Rehab Sector for Persons with Disabilities.

With more than 42 years of experience in the fields of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Dr. Sarwar has established a Center of Excellence awarding B.Sc. (Hon.) degrees in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Peshawar. The institute maintains a Model Production Centre providing assessment and rehabilitation services to thousands of patients annually.

"Each year, more than 6,000 orthopaedically disabled patients, including amputees, are fitted with artificial limbs and supports under his supervision."

Humanitarian Contributions

Dr. Sarwar was actively involved in reaching out to the victims of the October 2005 earthquake in the mountainous areas of Pakistan. He has established a network of more than 26 P&O Rehab Centres all over Pakistan, including AJK, providing rehabilitation services and assistive devices to thousands of disabled persons across the country.

Global Recognition

His students are working globally, including in the Gulf, Europe, USA, and Australia. Dr. Sarwar has travelled widely and presented scores of papers internationally. Well known in the international prosthetics and orthotic community, he is well connected to national and international donor agencies working in KPK, merged districts, and Baluchistan.

Presently, Dr. Sarwar resides in Islamabad with his wife and children.
