CHARTERED CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANT’S COURSE: ACCA (UK)

Admission Requirements:
There are various entry routes which take into account different qualifications and recognize your previous academic achievements. Following are the two important routs through which entry can be made to ACCA.

Professional Examination Route-PER:
For entry to ACCA’s professional qualification, a candidate must be at least 18-Years of age and must meet at least one of the criteria shown in the below table:

1. 2-GCE (Advanced level) passes and 3-GCE (Ordinary level) passes (Advanced level passes at grade A-3), ordinary level passes at grades A-C including English and mathematics, intermediate examination/ higher school certificate at least 50% or above can be accepted as a substitute for ordinary levels.
2. AAT (Pakistan) From May 1997 (Complete intermediate stages)
3. ICAP intermediate exams(Old Syllabus) 1987-1995
4. Access / Foundation course (from City School Karachi)
5. (FTFC) internal exam / test (from 1996)
6. 2-Year B.Com /B.A /B.Sc (from a recognized institution)

Mature Students Entry Route (MSER):
For entry to ACCA’s Professional Qualification via MSER a candidate must be over 21-Years old and must be FA/FSc. He must also pass papers M1 and M2 (equivalent to papers 1.1& 1.2) within 2-Years from the date of his first eligible ACCA examination session. He will then be able to transfer to the main student register. CAT Certified Accounting Technician Qualification. This is ACCA’s vocational, open-entry introduction to accounting. Applicants who are 16-years or older can complete ACCA’s CAT qualification and will be eligible for direct entry to part-2 of ACCA’s professional examination.


Exemptions:
Your previous qualification may entitle you to exemptions from certain ACCA’s examinations. This will ensure that your point of entry is the most suitable for your level of knowledge and skills and will prevent you repeating areas with which you are already familiar.
Exemption is awarded on the basis of qualifications which contain relevant content to ACCA Papers at Part-1and 2. No exemption is awarded at part-3.

Exemption Include:
1. 3-Year B.Com (Hons) exempts Part-1.
2. M.Com or MBA exempt Part-1+ Papers 2.1 and 2.2.
3. AAT-Pakistan exempt papers 1.1, 1.2 based on specific subjects.
4. Institute of Charted Secretaries and Managers Pakistan exempt papers 1.3, 2.2 based on specific subjects.
5. ICAP (from 1996-Complete) exempt Part-1 + papers 2.1, 2.4, 2.6.
6. ICAP Modular Foundation Examination (from 2001 to complete Modules A-D) exempt Part-1+ Paper 2.1.
7. ICMAP (Complete) exempt Part-1 + Paper 2.2 based on specific subjects.
